Get to Know Our Team

Pets Companion Inn prides itself on its small team of well-trained, long-term employees.

Our team members have a love for animals and combined service of over 40 years. Our customers enjoy getting to know us, and we enjoy getting to know your pets. In fact, nothing warms our hearts like when your pets are excited to see us again.

Learn more about our team leaders below. They will take great care of your pets every time they stay with us.

Team Leaders

  • Sharon Long

    OPERATIONS AND OFFICE MANAGER

Sharon is our Operations and Office Manager. She, like all of our primary team, has completed many hours of continuing education in pet care, pet first aid, and CPR. She has been taking care of our guests here for over 20 years. She has hand-raised everything from baby deer, squirrels, and raccoons, to abandoned baby rabbits while working here. Her two dogs, Tinkie and Onyx, spend lots of time with us here. When she’s not working, Sharon loves hunting, riding motorcycles, and spending time with her daughter and her three grandbabies.

  • Danny McFarland

    KENNEL MANAGER

Danny is our Kennel Manager and has been a fixture for many of our customers for almost 25 years. He has also completed many hours of continuing education in pet care, pet first aid, and CPR. Not seen as often at the front desk, Danny spends most of his day in the kennel with the dogs. He is our “go-to guy” for who does what and when in the kennel. He, like all of our team, has hands-on contact with each pet every day. When he’s off the clock, Danny is an avid gamer who spends much of his time in the World of Warcraft.

  • Vicki Sosbe

    KENNEL TECHNICIAN

Vicki has been a pet caretaker for many years, and a member of our team as Kennel Technician for 5 years. She is equally comfortable caring for cats, dogs and small mammals. She will often meet you at the front desk to answer your questions and check your pets in or out. When she's not working, she loves hitting the roller coasters at amusement parks or hiking and paddle boarding with her daughters.

  • Gwen Habenicht

    OWNER

Gwen began Pet’s Companion Inn on Quail Roost Farm in 1981. Before opening PCI, Gwen bred and showed Bassets and Whippets. She also showed Sporting and Hound breeds professionally. Her goal has always been to provide safe, clean, and comfortable care for pets in a calm, knowledgeable, and comfortable country atmosphere. She completed a two-year program and became a Certified Kennel Operator years ago. She is currently a member of IBPSA, International Boarding, and Pet Services Association, and attends monthly web-based seminars to continue learning the best pet care methods. When not at the kennel, Gwen’s main hobby is SCCA Solo Racing. She is a four-time National Champion and winner of the prestigious Sports Car Club of America Solo Triad Award.
